Puppy love and stitches

It was a beautiful weekend here, we actually saw some sunshine. The pups had baths and I'm loving that just bathed smell! I also got some stitching in too! The bug hit for some cross stitching. I'll show the finish since it will hopefully be soon since I've got that 'startitus' scratching at me. How do you save the memories of your stitching projects, especially those that you give away? I use a photo journal and now I'll be blogging about them. One thing though that I've seen many times on all the wonderful blogs out there is a bits jar. I love this idea, collect the little ends of your threads for a whole year and see how much you end up with. So I did end up missing a few sessions, but it's started now! Honestly it's going to take me awhile to fill that - I'm one of those that if there's three inches left, I'm saving to use it! I've also got an idea in the back of my head on what to do with those at the end of the year...but you'll have to follow along to find out that one! Here's a photo of my jar.

bits jar and mystery fabric

Not much in there right now, is there? My wrists definitely tell me I did more than what's showing! Do you see that fabric underneath there? That's another upcoming project. I got that fabric at Joann's on my last trip to Chicago Gasp - it's been sitting too long!!. So it's time to get moving on that also. I just love those flowers!

We did get an addition to our family last year after the move, another puppy! I will never understand people who will just drop a puppy off in the middle of nowhere, let alone abuse one. This little guy had both done too him. It took us almost a week to snag him out of the woods and I wish I had taken a photo of him then, but that's best forgotten. A good bath, some food and water and lots of loving have him looking healthy as can be. He's not a people lover to anyone but hubby and I..with us he's an absolute loverboy. He just has no confidence with the rest of us two legged folks. Hubby named him Riley for 'The life of Riley' reference. There's been others dropped off around us, but we just couldn't resist keeping this guy. That puts us back up to four....but look at this face:

Riley

Adorable! A little sleep in his eye, what a baby!
